New to waxing? Before you book you may Here are the most popular questions answered.

Q:How long does the hair have to be before I can get waxed?

A: Let the hair grow for at least seven days after shaving.

Q: Should I trim my hair before I get waxed?

A: You can but always leave at least 4mm.

Q: How long does a Brazilian Wax take?

A: It usually takes me anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes. The more you’ve waxed, the faster it can be done.

Q: How long before the hair grows back?

A: This is a tricky one because when it comes to the hair re-growth cycle, everyone is different. Hair grows at different rates, sometimes depending on ethnicity. I have clients that come in every six- eight weeks and have hardly any hair and others who have to come in every three – five weeks.

Q: How often should I get it done?

A: Most of my clients come every three to five weeks, depending on how fast their hair grows back. My experience has been that every four weeks is the most popular length of time between waxing.

Q: Will my hair grow back thicker and darker?

A: No. Waxing pulls the hair from the follicle weakening the root. So, if anything it will grow back weaker, more sparse and easier to remove next time.

Q: Will my hair stop growing back all together?

A: No, but it will become sparser and have a finer texture if you wax regularly. Many people (including me) have areas which they have frequently waxed where the hair simply no longer grows.

Q: Can I shave between my waxing visits?

A: My advice is not too. Shaving creates ingrown hairs, redness and irritation. If you have an urge to pick up the razor, make your appointments every three weeks instead of four or five.

Q: Can I get waxed while I am on my period?

A: Of course, just know you are more sensitive three days before and after your period.  Women in this line of business usually are not squeamish, myself included. So just simply wear a fresh tampon and pop a couple of pain-killers to help fight the extra sting during this time.

Q: Am I too old to get a Brazilian wax?

A: ABSOLUTELY NOT! I have waxed ladies in their early seventies. You are never too old, so wax on!

Q: Can I still get waxed while I am pregnant?

A: Of course!! This is becoming a regular item on many soon-to-be mommies’ to-do lists.

Q: Can I go tanning before or after my waxing session?

A: Plan on waiting at least 24 hours after your treatment to tan. And do not come in right after a fresh spray tan because the wax will take it right off.

Q: I have a special occasion coming up and have never been waxed. Are there any special instructions?

A: Whether you want a premarital wax or just a vacation-ready bikini line, I recommend you plan to have at least two waxes before the event. This will ensure you do not have any reactions to the wax before the big day. It also gets the first wax – which is the most uncomfortable – out of the way. The second wax will also provide a much smoother, cleaner result with less post-wax tenderness. If you don’t have time to squeeze in two waxing sessions, then go at least three to four days prior to your special occasion.

Q: Can I have sex the same day I get waxed?

A: While you might want to share your new look with a loved one right away, I always suggest waiting at least 24 hours – especially if you are prone to ingrown hairs or are fairly new to waxing. Friction and perspiration might aggravate the skin. During the first 24 hours, your body is most susceptible to outside bacteria that might cause an infection of the hair follicle known as folliculitis.
